Why were Amandine and Antoine looking for a rental?
Owners of a house in Fontainebleau, Antoine and Amandine want to get closer to Paris to facilitate their daily life : indeed, as Antoine has to travel daily to London for his work, he hopes to save precious time by getting closer to the station. Moreover, as their life plan could lead them to live in the UK, within a few years they decided to look for a rental in the meantime and put their property up for sale.
Why did they need to call in an apartment hunter?
While Amandine is already taking care of showing their home in Fontainebleau to prospective buyers, the young woman cannot be available enough to organize the search for their rental. Not to mention that she also has to take care of their 2-year-old daughter and take care of herself a little, waiting for theirsecond child.

What were the key points of the search mandate?
On the occasion of this telephone appointment, Amandine and Ségolène take stock of the couple’s search criteria : an apartment – preferably Haussmannian and bright – of at least 100 m2, with 3 bedrooms, ideally 4. It must be serviced by an elevator and have a bathtub in its bathroom.
At the sector level, if young parents do not have criteria for the school card, they want to be close to a park. With the exception of the13th, 14th,15th and16th arrondissements, they are open to all proposals: they still have a big preference for the friendly corners of eastern Paris.
Our apartment hunter takes advantage of this exchange to suggest neighborhoods that they have not particularly targeted. Neighbourhoods located in the19th and20th,benefiting from an interesting neighbourhood life and likely to offer them a much greater, for the budget indicated (3,600 expenses included).
After signing the search mandate, Ségolène Sautarel goes to work, peeling off the offers of the classic sites and playing her relationships to get nuggets to suggest to the young couple.
How does Segolene hit the ground running from the first visit?
A week later, Ségolène Sautarel spots a house on a private rental site: it is located in the 20th arrondissement, in the district of La Campagne in Paris. Although not in the couple’s initial search area, it is one of the particularly attractive neighbourhoods mentioned by our hunter on the phone. For the record, the film “Le Petit Nicolas” was shot there… Very colorful, with its small cobblestone passages, this area does not lack charm!
Built in the 1920s, the house is 130 square metres spread over 3 floors The first one houses the kitchen which overlooks the garden of 50 m2, a bedroom and a laundry area; the second is a magnificent 40-square-metre living room, with a workshop space with a bohemian chic glass roof; the third floor is dedicated to the night space, with 3 bedrooms and a bathroom.
At the end of the visit, Amandine is completely charmed: while they were considering an apartment, they can dream of a house with a garden for a rent of 3,400 euros! Not to mention that the current owners want to rent their property for only 3 years (they seize a professional opportunity abroad), before returning – which is perfect for the couple!
While all the signals are green, the file is “frozen” by the owners: there would be a concern in the negotiation of the employment contract between the country of origin and the host country. Not being sure that the house is rented, Segolene must resume the search in the meantime…
Why did the visits continue despite the crush?
Quickly, Ségolène spotted a beautiful Haussmannian apartment in the9th arrondissement in Blanche : with an area of 130 m2, it has a beautiful ceiling height and fulfills all the requirements of the couple. With Amandine’s agreement, our real estate hunter files a file. Unfortunately, the property was removed from the market a few days later: the owner decided to put it up for sale rather than lease. New disappointment for Amandine and Antoine.
Once again in search, Ségolène pre-visits an apartment in their favorite neighborhood where they lived 10 years (12th) : with its 140 m2 carrez (120 m2 on the ground), it is offered as a duplex, on the top floor of a building offering a magnificent view of the rooftops of Paris. Again, the couple is enthusiastic. Unlucky, the agency does not pass their file to the management firm and the apartment quickly finds a buyer. New disillusionment for young parents.
Ségolène goes hunting again and finds them an apartment in the 11th arrondissement, close to Trousseau Square : the property is full of charm and also satisfies all the wishes of Amandine and Antoine, who particularly appreciate its location and who decide to file a file …
What good are they going to choose?
In the meantime, Ségolène receives news from the owners of the first house: everything is unlocked! Amandine and Antoine can sign the lease! At this very moment, the couple has a choice to make : on the one hand a house with a garden 15 minutes by metro in the heart of Paris, on the other, an apartment in the 11th district that he loves very much.
After an intense reflection, and after a long visit to the area of the Campaign in Paris that they did not know, their choice is on the house!
