Describe your projectBuying in the 9th arrondissement with a property hunter
Why buy in the 9th arrondissement?
The 9th has been the rising arrondissement for a decade. Between Nouvelle Athènes, one of Paris's most beautiful Haussmann quarters, and the transforming Grands Boulevards, it attracts young, dynamic and demanding buyers.
The typical buyer in the 9th is a young upper-income couple or family with a first child. The South Pigalle (SoPi) quarter, now a gastronomic and cultural epicentre, also attracts creatives and entrepreneurs. It's a living arrondissement, not just an investment.
The 9th's major asset is value for money: 15-25% cheaper than the 6th or 7th for comparable architectural quality (Nouvelle Athènes rivals Saint-Germain). Post-Haussmann buildings offer beautiful volumes, mouldings, fireplaces, at prices that remain in a reasonable range for Paris.
Caution is needed in the northern part (towards Barbès) where prices and living environment differ significantly. A property hunter who knows the 9th guides towards optimal streets and floors.
The 9th is Paris's pleasant surprise: Saint-Germain architecture, Brooklyn restaurants, Right Bank prices, and an energy no other arrondissement matches.
