Inner suburbs

Where we search outside Paris

Buyers rarely ask for "a town in the Hauts-de-Seine": they ask for the west, the family-friendly east or the more affordable south. Here are the five zones our hunters cover, and what you actually find in each. Prices are median flat prices from the French land registry (DVF); times are door-to-door journeys into central Paris.

West

The west is a direct extension of the 16th and 17th arrondissements. Neuilly-sur-Seine, Levallois-Perret and Boulogne-Billancourt sit less than ten minutes from Paris by métro and account for most of our searches outside the city: large family flats, high-end buildings, houses in Saint-Cloud and Garches.

Frequently asked questions

Which areas does a Home Select property hunter actually cover?
All 20 arrondissements of Paris and 68 towns across the Paris region, in five zones: west (Neuilly-sur-Seine, Levallois-Perret, Boulogne-Billancourt), south (Issy-les-Moulineaux, Montrouge, Sceaux), east (Vincennes, Saint-Mandé, Saint-Maur-des-Fossés), north (Pantin, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, Clichy) and the residential west in the Yvelines (Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Le Vésinet, Versailles). Every town we cover is listed here with price per sqm and commuting time.
Does a Paris property hunter really know the inner suburbs?
That is the right question to ask. At Home Select the 16 hunters are assigned by geographic zone rather than covering the whole region: your search goes to the hunter who follows the area you are targeting. Just outside Paris, value is set street by street and building by building, not town by town: two addresses in the same town differ in both price and resale liquidity.
Which is the most affordable arrondissement in Paris?
In 2026, the most accessible arrondissements are the 19th and 20th, with median prices around €8,200/sqm. The 13th also offers good value, with several pockets undergoing rapid transformation.
Which neighbourhoods suit expat families best?
For families, we usually point to the 16th (excellent international schools), the 7th (safe and prestigious), the 15th (spacious flats and a family feel) and the 17th (the village atmosphere of Batignolles). Just beyond Paris, Neuilly-sur-Seine and Boulogne-Billancourt remain firm favourites with expat families.
Should I buy in Paris or in the inner suburbs?
It depends on your budget and lifestyle. Towns such as Boulogne-Billancourt, Vincennes and Neuilly are 20 to 50% cheaper per square metre and offer noticeably more space. Those on a direct métro line allow a quick commute into central Paris while preserving a quieter way of life.
How does Home Select help you choose the right area?
At the first meeting, your property hunter looks carefully at your budget, lifestyle, practical constraints (schools, transport, workplace) and personal preferences. They then put forward two or three suitable areas, with a side-by-side comparison of prices, availability and quality of life.
