Where these figures come from
The base is DVF (Demandes de valeurs foncières), the public register of sales kept by the French tax administration and published on data.gouv.fr. We reprocess the avril 2026 vintage: flat and house sales, excluding outbuildings and atypical transactions, aggregated by arrondissement and by town.
The price shown is a MEDIAN, not an average: half the sales closed above it, half below. It withstands extreme sales better than an average, and it is the convention used by French notaries.
Known limits: DVF publishes with a lag of several months, so the figures describe completed sales, not current asking prices. Small volumes (some towns) make the median more volatile. Demographics come from the INSEE census.
